During Saturday 26th August – Monday 28th August you can make the most out of this longer-lasting weekend with these events. This weekend features the Notting Hill Carnival, Europe’s biggest street festival, and this vivid spectacle represents London’s multicultural past and present. Spread throughout west London, the celebrations take over the areas of Notting Hill, Ladbroke Grove, and Westbourne Park.
Sunfall
Saturday 12th August will host the Sunfall event. This one-day festival comes from the teams behind London nightspots Phonox, The Nest, and XOYO, plus the amazing Croatian festivals Dimensions and Outlook. There are two parts to Sunfall: a day of dancing in Brockfell Park, followed by eight eclectic afterparties across south London with no extra tickets needed!
London Bridge City Summer Festival
This free festival is held up until Thursday 31st August. There is something for everyone to enjoy, with live theatre, music, and DJs, free fitness and dance classes, cult film screenings from Nightspot Cinema, and ‘Massaoke’ (mass karaoke.) London Bridge’s summer festival is a three-month cross-venue party for all budgets.
Art Exhibitions Not To Be Missed
If you’re a fan of art, there are many exhibitions for you to enjoy in London this August. One of these events; Hokusai: Beyond the Great Wave, is one to attend. This exhibition held at the British Museum is available until Sunday 13th August. During the show, you view the iconic artwork of Katsushika Hokusai, taking in his prints, books, and his one-off paintings. This is a journey through the mind of a master, wringing every last drop of art from his brush.
